ICD-10 / DSM-5 Conversion Project
The Division of Behavioral Health intends to transition to use of the new International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Edition (ICD-10) on October 1, 2015 in compliance with Federal mandate. This project also includes the transition to the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) and the ASAM Criteria; Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions – Third Edition (ASAM-3). This project involves close coordination with other State agencies, stakeholder organizations, and contractors that play a role in the transition process. The documents included here are designed to inform and instruct all provider organizations impacted by the adoption of the ICD-10, DSM-5 and ASAM-3.
