The Alaska Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low-income seniors with coupons that can be exchanged for fresh Alaska-grown fruits, vegetables, and fresh-cut herbs at farmers’ markets, and authorized farms and roadside stands.  Each eligible senior receives five $5.00 coupons that may be used through the end of the farmers’ market season, October 31, 2015.
Coupons for the SFMNP will soon be provided to eligible low-income seniors through distribution agencies in Anchorage, Eagle river, Fairbanks, the Mat-Su Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Dillingham, Copper River Valley, and Haines. The coupons will be available by  July 27, 2015.  Please click here for a listing of distribution agencies near you.




Text4Baby is a new resource for pregnant mothers. This is a service designed to provide free, health –related text messages to pregnant women and new mothers. Women who sign up for this service by texting BABY to 511411 will receive free SMS text messages each week, timed to their due date or baby’s date of birth. Visit the WIC Resources page with outreach information for Text4Baby.
