November 2015 is diabetes awareness month!

It's time to Eat Well, America! #EatWellAmerica diabetesforecast.org/adm

We will be celebrating this month with various activities throughout the state. To help us spread the word and increase diabetes awareness, you can participate in the following ways:

  • Print and post a diabetes awareness poster from the American Diabetes Association. Join and you can share Diabetes Month Posters, Fact Sheets, and more, with versions available in different languages. To visit please click here!
  • Subscribe to a FREE on-line diabetes prevention program recognized by CDC called ALIVE-PD. This service is brought to you via a community based partnership with the American Diabetes Association, YMCA-Alaska, State of Alaska, and Alaska Health Fairs. Make this service available to your community, by posting the link on your website or social media sites with the hashtag #AlivePD 
  • Pick-up information regarding Diabetes by visiting any Alaska Commercial Store throughout the state of Alaska, thanks to a partnership between American Diabetes Association and Alaska Commercial.
  • Celebrate National Healthy Lunch Day on November 17th.
  • Learn more about the impact of Diabetes in Alaska, by going to the Indication Based Information System (IBIS) reports regarding diabetes and prevalence in Alaska.
