Screening Recommendations
Breast Health Screening
Beginning at age 18, all women should have a clinical breast examination every year.
If you're aged 40 - 49, talk with your clinican about when to begin scheduling regular mammograms.
If you're aged 50 - 64, you should have a mammogram every year.
Cervical Health Screening
Pap testing should begin by age 21 or 3 years after you first have sex, whichever comes first.
Your clinican will tell you how often you need to have a Pap smear. But in general, women who have had three normal Pap tests in a row during a 5 year period can go to a "once Pap every three year" screening cycle.
