Current Screening Guidelines:

  • Breast Cancer Screening Recommendation
  • Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines: The USPSTF recommends screening for cervical cancer every 3 years with cervical cytology alone in women aged 21 to 29 years. For women aged 30 to 65 years, the USPSTF recommends screening every 3 years with cervical cytology alone, every 5 years with high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) testing alone, or every 5 years with hrHPV testing in combination with cytology (cotesting).

Become a Ladies First Provider

Ladies First has identified specialized roles for delivery of its clinical services.

  • Screening Providers routinely perfom women's annual exams
  • Clinical Consultant and Resource Providers offer specialty services including laboratory, imaging and breast or cervical specialist consultation

Screening Providers will generally:

  • Determine eligibility and ideally serving as the patient’s medical home;
  • Refer patients to appropriate Ladies First providers (imaging centers and specialists) for additional services when necessary;
  • Provide Ladies First with data about patients they have screened.

Clinical Consultant and Resource Providers have a much more limited role in comparison to that of the Screening Provider. In general, they:

  • Accept referrals from Ladies First Screening Providers for further diagnostic testing and consultation;
  • Notify Ladies First and the Screening Provider of results of consultations, examinations, or diagnostic work done.
