Capital Request - Assistive Technology
What: This capital request is for durable goods that promote independence and self-sufficiency for AMHTA beneficiaries. Included are simple items like screen enlargers and alternative keyboards, as well as more complex equipment like reading machines and environmental control units.
Why: Budget expansion for assistive technology is much-needed, and this will complement the operating budget recommendation for expanding access to assistive technology being made by ACOA. With $200,000 new GF/MH, it is expected that at least 440 AMHTA beneficiaries will be served by this recommendation.
