Sheryl Cobb came to the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education in October 2009 from the Department of Labor. She moved into the Administrative Assistant I position. Having worked for the State of Alaska for more than 9 years, she has a strong clerical and administrative background. She looks forward to working with the Council staff in all of their projects that assist the large number of people in Alaska who are affected with various disabilities, as she understands firsthand what is like to be a family member with challenges ahead of them.
Prior to working with the State, Sheryl worked in the printing and advertising field for many years and offers her graphics knowledge to assist in office projects.
Sheryl calls Alaska home after living here 21 years, having migrated from Oregon. Sheryl lives in the Valley with her multiple critters and her husband, Dave. She recently added 2 step-daughters and 2 granddaughters to her family with her marriage to Dave. She raises championship show rabbits, an assortment of chinchillas and 2 cattle dogs who are her family.
