Meet William Stewart an Alaska Microenterprise Grant Success

William Stewart grew up in Southeast Alaska and he has a passion to help people understand the beauty of this area through his phenomenal artwork. He produces original oil paintings, colored pencil drawings & produces limited edition prints.

Through the UAA Center for Human Development (CHD), Microenterprise Grant Program, William was able to get the help he needed to start his business. He took part in an online training for artists provided by CHD. He used a web designer who taught a session in the training series to build his web presence. "I'm delighted with the results and could not have done this without the support of this program," William said. Visit his website: http://www.alaskamaritimeart.com/home

"I'm so glad he was able to get the support from the Microenterprise Grant committee. I think he is an amazing artist and he has a very bright future ahead of him." Jackie Stewart of Business Works said.

If you are a self-employed person with a disability, you may be eligible for help through the Microenterprise Grant program. For more information, please contact: Larissa Cummings at CHD. For people thinking about applying, CHD has a business coach to help them in advance.
