Alaska's Cardiovascular Health Coalition

Take Heart Alaska Coalition

About the Coalition

The primary goal of the coalition is the ongoing development and implementation of the State Cardiovascular Health Plan (CVH plan).  The coalition is in the process of updating the CVH plan.

The Take Heart Alaska coalition has existed for over ten years.  Planning for statewide cardiovascular health coalition actually started before 1998, but it was that year when Take Heart Alaska was officially created, and released "Take Heart Alaska - A Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Plan for Alaska."

The THA coalition is governed by a steering committee. The committee is an elected advisory panel responsible for updating the Take Heart Alaska Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Plan and for developing a yearly work plan that is consistent with the THA Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Plan.  They also determine how the work plan will be leadership for the other committees of the coalition and any subcommittees.
