The mission of the Alaska Commission on Aging is to
ensure the dignity and independence of all older Alaskans, and to assist
them to lead useful and meaningful lives through planning, advocacy,
education, and interagency cooperation.
State Plan for Senior Services
We are accepting public comment on the State Plan on Aging until June 2nd. Learn more about how to voice your opinion on the plan for the next four years.
Every four years, the Alaska Commission on Aging produces a plan which serves as a roadmap for addressing the issues affecting Alaskan Seniors. We are currently in the process of finalizing the plan for fiscal years 2024 – 2027. Visit our State Plan for Services page for more information on the process.

- Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman

Office
of the Long Term Care Ombudsman identifies, investigates and
resolves complaints relating to seniors in nursing homes and assisted
living facilities. Complaints that seniors and their families have about nursing homes and assisted living facilities can be addressed to the Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman. They identify, investigate and resolve complaints throughout the State of Alaska. Contact them if you need assistance with an issue, or would like to become an LTCO volunteer.
