Alaska Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Webinar Series

The Section offers a free webinar series about public health projects and partnerships in Alaska.

The Section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion is at work to improve the health of Alaskans. Our programs cover many areas, from tracking data so we know which chronic diseases are affecting lives to getting out into the community. We work with providers to promote early diagnosis, support physical activity events for kids at Alaska schools, and promote classes to help those with diabetes manage their disease.

We work on preventing and reducing tobacco use and obesity – two of the leading public health threats facing Alaskans today. We focus on the prevention, treatment, and management of diabetes, heart disease and strokes, and cancer. We strive to prevent injuries for all Alaskans.

We started a webinar series in 2015 that shows what we and our partners are doing. The webinars are free and about 20 minutes each, with an additional 10 minutes for questions. They typically start at 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday of a month. To register for and watch live webinars, go to the link under each topic (each webinar has a separate registration page). As webinars are completed, the video and presentation will be posted here, and future webinars will be promoted.

Archived webinars can be viewed by clicking here.
