What we do
Serve as the administrative entity for the
Alaska Perinatal Quality Collaborative (AK PQC)
which provides statewide leadership for quality improvement projects to improve outcomes for pregnant patients and their babies. The AK PQC hosts an annual Perinatal Summit and multiple learning sessions throughout the year. The AK PQC steering committee serves as the advisory committee for the
Alaska Substance-Exposed Newborns Initiative (SENI)
.
Collaborate with the University of Alaska Center for Human Development to lead the Perinatal and Home Visiting Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) virtual learning communities. Visit the

Collaborate with the Alaska Division of Behavioral Health, the Alaska Medicaid Program, hospitals, clinicians, and social service agencies statewide to prevent and reduce risk of substance exposed pregnancy, depression, intimate partner violence and unintended pregnancy.
Work with
state and community partners to promote prenatal and childhood immunizations.
Promote and facilitate public access to evidence-based and reliable health information through distribution of printed handouts available on our
Printed Materials page.
Collaborate with clinical and social service agencies statewide to promote infant safe sleep practices.
Collaborate with the
All Alaska Pediatric Partnership
, the Alaska Medicaid Program, the March of Dimes, hospitals and clinical and social service agencies statewide to improve prenatal and infant health outcomes.
Collaborate with the
Alaska Tobacco Prevention and Control Program
to prevent and reduce prenatal tobacco use statewide.
