About Alaska Medication Education

Most Americans don’t take their medicine correctly, which is a serious problem nationwide.

We created Alaska Medication Education to help you protect your health and independence. Alaska Med Ed talks about common problems taking medicines, and ways to solve them.

There are two parts to Alaska Medication Education: this website and a class. We invite you to browse through the site, and take the class.

If you don’t have time for the class, here’s the bottom line: Share any questions or concerns you have about your prescriptions with your pharmacist or health care providers.

The important thing is to address any challenges you have taking your medicines as directed.

Please email us if you have questions or suggestions. — Alaska Dept. of Health & Social Services

The U.S. Administration on Aging requires its grantees, including the Alaska Division of Senior & Disabilities Services, to inform citizens about the health risks of not taking medicine correctly. Alaska Medication Education materials were designed to meet that requirement.
