Seeking Public Input on the Proposed Amendments to the IDD Waiver, APDD Waiver, CCMC Waiver, and ISW Waiver
The Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (SDS) is requesting comment from recipients, waiver service providers, and other stakeholders on the proposed waiver amendments to four of Alaska’s 1915(c) home and community-based services waivers.
The amended waivers are:
- People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
- Adults with Physical and Developmental Disabilities (APDD)
- Children with Complex Medical Conditions (CCMC)
- Individualized Supports Waiver (ISW)
The proposed changes:
- IDD, APDD, and CCMC: The modification of the Residential Habilitation service to include Specialized Family Habilitation Homes, and Specialized Group Habilitation Homes which will service highly acute participants with complex needs; and
- IDD, APDD, CCMC and ISW: The allowance of Legally Responsible Individuals (LRIs) to provide In-Home Supports services and Supported Living services under specific circumstances.

Once the comments have been reviewed and necessary changes incorporated into the proposed waivers, the waivers will be submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval.

SDS will hold two webinars to explain the waiver amendments.
- The webinar to explain the modifications to the Residential Habilitation service will be on Wednesday, September 20th, from 12:00 to 1:30pm.
- The webinar to explain the allowance of Legally Responsible Individuals (LRIs) to provide specific waiver services will be on Thursday, September 21st from 12:00 to 1:30pm.
