Back-to-School Town Hall: Bullying in Schools; Kids with Disabilities Tell Their Stories

Join the Council for a viewing of This I Believe. A regular public radio guest-writer feature, the reading of this short essay (written by an anonymous 14-year-old with disabilities) was video taped and published by PACER, Minnesota’s Parent Training and Information Center, in connection with its bullying prevention project. The video provides a brief glimpse into the experience of a student with developmental disabilities, as told by five different age-peer narrators (4 mins). Following the video, students with disabilities will be invited to share their personal stories of bullying at school.

4:20 p.m.

Bullying of Students with Disabilities at School. Public testimony opportunity on this topic as well as anything else within the purview of the Council is welcome. You can provide your testimony in writing, in-person, or over the phone.
