About Us

Anchorage-based Itinerant Public Health Nurses (PHN III) and support staff provide high quality Public Health Nursing services to 35 villages and communities, all off the road system. Services are provided in clinics, homes, schools, tribal halls, community meetings, and even outdoors.

Anchorage-based Itinerant Public Health Nursing covers a large number of communities to provide both individual and community-based services. We work in partnership with the community to improve health for all. We collaborate with various Tribal Health Corporations (South Central Foundation, Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation, Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Aleutian Pribilof Island Association), Village Council, non-tribal health clinics (Camai Health Clinic and Iliuliuk Family Health Services) Women Infants and Children Program (WIC), Infant Learning Program (ILP), school districts, seafood processing plants, and others.

We participate in local health fairs, emergency preparedness exercises, various health promotion and community awareness activities (such as school presentations and community events), support local health providers in ensuring access to health care and information, and provide safety-net access to services such as immunization and well-child exams.

Scheduling and Fees

Please call 907-334-2250 to schedule an appointment. Fees are assessed for all public health nursing services. We have a sliding scale based on family size and income; no one is turned away for inability to pay. Registration forms are available to fill out ahead of your appointment.
